ASSISI WAR CEMETERY - OPEN DAY CON VISITA GUIDATA

Nell'ambito delle Giornate Europee del Patrimonio 2026 e nel weekend di commemorazioni per l'Ottavo centenario della morte di San Francesco d'Assisi, la Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) è lieta di organizzare un open day con visita guidata all'Assisi War Cemetery.

In linea con il tema delle Giornate Europee del Patrimonio 2026, “Proteggere il patrimonio. Rinnovare, resistere, reinventare" l'Assisi War Cemetery avrà un open day sabato 3 ottobre con una visita guidata gratuita, focalizzata sul patrimonio fisico e immateriale del sito storico e della memoria dei caduti, e sull'orticoltura del cimitero nell'ottica dell'ecosostenibilità.

L'Assisi War Cemetery della CWGC è il luogo di sepoltura di 946 caduti del Commonwealth della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Scopri le sue componenti architettoniche, la sua eccellenza orticola e il suo patrimonio di memoria.

Orario open day: dalle 10:00 alle 16:00.

La visita guidata si terrà alle ore 11:00. Il punto di incontro sarà all'ingresso del cimitero su Via del Sacro Tugurio.

As part of the European Heritage Days 2026 and the weekend of commemorations marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is pleased to organise an open day with guided tour at Assisi War Cemetery.

In keeping with the theme of the European Heritage Days 2026, “Protecting Heritage: Renew, Resist, Reinvent”, Assisi War Cemetery will host an Open Day on Saturday 3 October, featuring a free guided tour focusing on the site's tangible and intangible heritage, the remembrance of the fallen, and the cemetery’s horticulture from a sustainability perspective.

Assisi War Cemetery is the final resting place of 946 Commonwealth servicemen and women of the Second World War. Discover its architectural features, horticultural excellence, and commemorative heritage.

Open Day opening hours: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.The guided tour will begin at 11:00 am. The meeting point will be at the cemetery entrance on Via del Sacro Tugurio.
